This page just has a couple of Discount computer books that I think best complement the information found on this web site.

This site has great technical guides but I cannot give you a full detailed background to help you fully understand what's going on. Often I'll tell you to do something but I won't explain why. This is because there is a lot of interrelated information that I simply cannot cover because I want the guides to be concise and easy to follow.

So if you are interested in learning a bit about the technology behind computers then have a look at these two books.

This book is a good introduction to the technology behind computers. It doesn't tell you how to use one but it does go into depth about the applications of modern computers from scanners to ZIP drives to all the components in a computer.

It has a very simple style and is great for those people who know very little but want a general overview of the technology.

This book definitely complements the information on my site and I think you would get more out of my technical guides if you have read it.

This book is updated every year and it covers everything you need (or want) to know about computers. It also has upgrade guides similar to one on this site.

This book is for people who want a complete guide to computers and a useful reference for their library at home.

It covers some very advanced topics but also covers all the basics. The information is complete.

It also comes with 2 useful CD ROMs. If you want a complete guide then you can't go wrong with this book.
